Abstract

This bachelor thesis is focused on relationship between friction wear performance of brake linings and their composition. XRFS element analysis and phase analysis RTG diffraction on untested brake linings was performed. Then friction wear performance on brake dynamometer was tested. Lately, using SEM, the visual characterization of prepared samples was carried out. Significantly worse friction characteristics and wear of brake linings (B) was observed. Brake pads (A) contain higher amount of harder character elements and phases in function of fillers. Despite the significant difference of friction wear performance, both brake linings fulfill strict criteria, enabling sale of these on Europian market.
