Abstract
In this thesis an analysis of the damage to the grooved shaft of the conveyor drive was carried out. In the preparation of this work, the purpose is to find out the causes of the failure of the splined shaft used for the drive of the conveyor and then to propose, according to the results, a suitable solution by which to achieve the avoidance of unwanted damage. In the theoretical part was described the types of materials used for the production of shaft, the possible types of degradation of grooved shafts and the methods of protecting these components against undesirable corrosion and degradation. In the practical part, space was devoted to the analysis and condition analysis of the damaged grooved shaft. Macroscopic evaluation (using a stereomicroscope), metallographic study of steel structure and damage, measurement of shaft hardness, determination of wear rate was performed and verification of the chemical composition of the shaft steel were carried out.
