Přírodní bohatství a jeho význam v hospodářství vybraných zemí

Abstract

This thesis deals with the importance of natural resources in the economy. It is focused on the area of political and institutional environments, economic growth and welfare. The aim is to prove or disprove the negative consequences of natural resources to the economy of selected countries. In this work the relation between economic growth and oil production is analyzed, as well as the relationship between welfare and production of oil by method of correlation. The relation between the change in welfare and production of oil is analyzed by the method of comparison. The analysis shows the positive correlation between natural wealth and economic growth. The negative consequences of natural resources from the viewpoint of welfare have been confirmed in the case of the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
