Analýzy finanční gramotnosti žáků středních škol

Abstract

This thesis analyzes the financial literacy of secondary school students, focusing on the Secondary School of Gastronomy and Services in Přerov. The aim is to comprehensively assess students’ financial knowledge and skills, compare results between academic and vocational study programs, and evaluate the effectiveness of a targeted educational intervention conducted by a field expert. The research is based on quantitative analysis of data collected through a pre-test questionnaire and a post-intervention test, administered before and after a two-hour educational session. Results indicate that students possess a fairly good basic level of financial literacy, with statistically significant differences found mainly in budgeting skills according to study type. The intervention led to slight, statistically insignificant improvements in overall scores; however, qualitative feedback confirmed positive effects on student motivation and practical orientation. The thesis further highlights the limitations of short-term educational activities and recommends the systematic and long-term integration of financial literacy into the school curriculum. The findings may serve as a basis for developing financial education methodologies and supporting teachers in fostering key personal finance competences among students.
