Abstract

This work elaborates on the topic of virtual and augmented reality. It explains various technologies, adds practical examples, and describes their history. Further, it elaborates on sub-sectors in the chemical industry and based on this analysis, identifies the possibilities for the use of augmented and virtual reality per each industry sub-sector. In addition, based on the current use of these technologies in the chemical industry and the prognosis of the overall development of the virtual and augment technologies, this work elaborates on the future trends of their use in the chemical industry.
