Abstract

Building internal and external dumps is an integral part not only of the surface mining of brown coal. In the Czech Republic was created in the past, many dumps from smaller to the largest, with billions m3 of soils. We perceive these dumps as giant structure, requiring the establishment to comply with certain rules, which in the past, neglected, or never knew. Today, most external dumps reclaimed or are in the process of rehabilitation, however, and the dump body is until to consolidate and amend the soil geophysical parameters. Internal dump after the finalization of the external dumps are more loaded, for most the Czech mining plant is internal dump the last stowing area. Instability of external dumps is possible because there the ongoing consolidation of the soils, internal dumps are more at risk because they are intensively a large stowing of soil, and accidents are frequent and dangerous for the continuity of open pit operations. This dissertation work deal with the research of changes occurring in the body dumps in time, for external dump assess the risk of an accident after the completion of reclamation work. For the internal dumps, the author tries to identify benign "safe" the stowing height and describe the geotechnical properties of soil during operation.
