Abstract

The development of production forces of the global society is connected with the expansion of many phenomena, including the informatics development and its penetration to all domains of human action. One domain of data technologies which is discussed a lot in conditions of modern companies nowadays is Business Intelligence. The aim of this thesis is to define tools for the analysis and data mining with the assistance of the method of description called Business Intelligence. The theoretical part is focused on the general description BI and it clarifies the basic meaning, functioning and it explains operating principles of BI to the reader. In the practical part the possibility of the concrete utilization of BI in conditions of the EMOS spol. s r. o. company is presented. There is used the method of non- standard discussions with users of the informational system and data technologies and with IT managers of the company EMOS spol. s r. o. In the closing part of this thesis I applied the information and on their basis I suggested other possibilities and domains of usage of BI which could help to increase the stability of this company.
