Abstract
The rapid growth of information technology brings new technologies and approaches into different sectors. One of them is a virtual reality that has been applied to logistics in this project. The thesis analyses logistics processes in a systematic manner and develops a proposal to present the outputs of the simulation model into three-dimensional scenes in virtual reality. Such an environment can be created by clearer and easily understood. The
project includes design of the virtual reality application in different parts of a logistics
chain. The proposed method of transfer algorithms measures and monitors data into a 3D
virtual scene using software applications. The findings are applied to model a specific heat
supply situation of a city, converted into a virtual scene. There has been used X3D
(Extensible 3D) as a modelling language. This kind of virtual world may find use not only
for heating network management, but also in modelling, simulation and control of any controlled process with a large number of resulting data.
