Abstract

Moščáková E, Family house with a Law Office, Bachelor´s Thesis. VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Architecture 226, 2026. Bachelor´s thesis supervisor: Ing. arch. Filip Slivka, Ph.D. The bachelor’s thesis focuses on the design of a family house with an integrated law office in the locality of Slezská Ostrava. The architectural and operational concept reflects the requirements for combining residential housing with a small administrative facility. The building is designed as a detached three-storey structure with a partially recessed basement, respecting the building line and the scale of the surrounding development. The massing concept is based on the composition of two mutually interlocking rectangular volumes, allowing a clear functional separation between the public and private areas. The structural system consists of a combination of masonry using ceramic blocks and reinforced concrete structures, adapted to the sloping terrain. The layout emphasizes clear operational relationships, logical circulation, and a well-defined spatial hierarchy. The architectural expression is based on a restrained minimalist design, making use of a flat roof, a light-colored façade, and accents of wood and metal. The thesis includes project documentation at the level of construction documentation, addressing structural, technical, and energy-related aspects of the design in accordance with valid legislation and technical standards.
