Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the mining activity displayed in painting, sculpture, music and literature. The first part describes the history of the mining industry, the world’s leading producers of the mineral resource and their use. It includes artwork of foreign authors. Another part is devoted to eminent mining regions of the Czech Republic and the history of mining in these areas. The following section deals with descriptions of various fine art works. The thesis also contains my proposal for a specialist excursion of two walking routes that give students the opportunity to visit and observe selected sculptures. They are closely described in the chapter entitled Specialized Thematic Excursion. The excursion is designed for students of VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava and it’s situated in urban areas Moravska Ostrava and Ostrava – Poruba. In text are also inserted my own photos.
