Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the concept of installing a new Arc Protection Relay for substation R-Jih area Třinecké železárny, a.s. In the first part of this thesis there is the theoretical analysis of this work is to calculate the parameterization of the protections in the inlet of the switching fields. In the first part of this thesis is the theoretical analysis the concept of industrial power networks, the calculation of short circuit currents in three phase networks, according to ČSN EN 60909-0 and electrical protection setting methodology for electricity grid. In the second part of this work, calculating of short-circuit conditions at the substation circuit R-Jih is done. Part of the calculation there is the parameterization of overload protection in the inlet fields substation. The third part describes the current state of Arc Protection Relay for substation R-Jih, describing the new Arc Protection Relay, selecting appropriate alternatives to install the new Arc Protection Relay, setting a new Arc Protection Relay for the proper functioning and protection of the new solution to connect into the existing system.
