Abstract
Model used for determination of radiant flux density emitted by burning typical tanks with petroleum built in Poland (12000, 32000, 50000 and 100000 m3) were presented in this paper. The main application area proposed for this model is evaluation of fireman safety during fire fighting operation using special foam extinguishment units. The main assumptions, mathematical model containing all necessary equations and results in the form of graphs are given. The conclusions based on the results of computer simulations obtained for two assumed temperatures of the flame (800 and 1000 ˚C) and all considered tanks were formulated.
