Abstract

Pulverized coal injection technology involves the replacement of coke for blast furnace with cheaper finely milled coal injected into the blast furnace through tuyeres of the blast furnace. This technology reduces the cost of production of pig iron. The aim of this work is to summarize current knowledge of the investment decision, a description of technology of pulverized coal injection in TŘINECKÉ ŽELEZÁRNY, a.s. and economic analysis of the investment. The result of this work is to determine the economic indicators, namely net present value, profitability index, static and dynamic payback method and return on capital employed and their explanations in relation to this technology.
