Abstract

The presented bachelor thesis deals with the categorization of work in a home for the elderly. In the first part, an analysis of the current state of working conditions in homes for the elderly is made, based on international research. This is followed by a description of the legislative framework of work categorization and the definition of relevant risk factors of working conditions. The theoretical part of the thesis is followed by a description of the organisation of homes for the elderly. The practical part of the bachelor thesis assesses the risk factors in the selected workplace using a personal questionnaire and observation methods. The main focus was on the physical load and the availability of aids for handling clients. The result is a proposal for the categorization of work according to the current legislation. On the basis of the findings, measures are recommended to improve the working conditions for the staff of the home for the elderly.
