Abstract

The diploma thesis focuses on the application of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology to evaluate the environmental impacts of plastic waste management in the town of Lipník nad Bečvou. The primary objective is to identify environmentally friendly alternatives for handling plastic waste by analyzing three main scenarios: recycling, energy recovery, and landfilling. The results aim to support strategic decision-making for optimizing the local waste management system and transitioning towards a more sustainable circular economy.
