Abstract
The extraction of Moldavite-bearing gravis in the extraction area Ločenice has been performed since 1999 in agreement with POPD, fields Ločenice-Chlum (Bertl, 1999). In the course of extraction the parameters and knowledge of the field have been gradually specified in respect to the exclusive mineral – Moldavite, which has resulted in a change of the approach to processing of the raw material.
From 1999 to 2004 the extraction of Moldavites prevailed which turned out to be not fully economically effective and therefore the technological line was changed in 2005 to focus on processing of gravels and on production of washed concreting sand (PTK 0/4 B) with the accompanying product – Moldavite.
This change in the production focus has significantly increased the production by the factor of three to four. However, the increased production has also brought new requirements for development of free space for sludge beds. This issue has also resulted in the necessity to address the issue of sludge water and to minimize the quantity of waste materials in the sludge beds due to the limited size of the extraction area. The purpose of this work is to summarize findings which preceded the installation of the equipment for separation of fine and powder particles from the sludge water and their subsequent evaluation.
