Abstract
Chemical plants operate with high amounts of river water which participate in almost all manufacturing processes. The river water is contaminated within these processes by various pollutants and waste materials, and as waste water it is directly treated in the chemical plants to the required quality so that it could be discharged back into the recipient.
This thesis deals mainly with acid waste water which is treated in the process of neutralization, i.e., it is neutralized by neutralizing agents to form precipitates or soluble inorganic salts. The aim of this thesis is to describe a solution of a particular method of neutralization, as well as to discuss further processing of the neutralized water so as to achieve the best possible quality of the resulting water discharged into recipients.
