Abstract
The theoretical part of the thesis deals with characterization of selected ATC (Anatomical Terapeutical Chemical Classification) groups of pharmaceuticals and their impacts on the environment. Methods of wastewater treatments, such as ultraviolet oxidation, adsorption on activated carbon, phytoremediation, etc., are mentioned, too.
The experimental part, being practically the aim of the thesis, focuses on quantitative identification of 52 active pharmaceutical ingredients in 28 samples from local wastewater treatment plants (Ostrava and Bohumín) and watercourses (Opava, Odra, Černý příkop, Ostravice and Olše) via the HPLC-MS/MS method. To understand the behaviour of pharmaceuticals in the environment, selected physical, chemical and biological environmental factors were also taken into account when evaluating the results. The presented work proved that the active ingredients were detected in the amounts of decimals to thousands of ng·dm-3 in all the investigated samples; the comparison of the measured concentrations of the active ingredients in the individual sampling points is performed and discussed, too. The conclusion of the thesis then summarizes the individual results for the investigated active pharmaceutical ingredients.
