Abstract

Bachelor thesis „Development of Leos Janacek Ostrava Airport and its importance for the Ostrava region” deals with the importance of transport and transport infrastructure for regional development. This work is focused on air transport and the Ostrava region, where Leos Janacek Ostrava Airport is located. Thesis describes the current situation of Ostrava Airport, the airport development and the development of transport infrastructure at the airport. The following is a description of Katowice International Airport and comparison between its position and the position of the Ostrava Airport in the market of regional airports. The work includes consideration of the possible causes of stagnation in Ostrava Airport, as well as the development of a hypothetical connection of Leos Janacek Ostrava Airport to the development of the region. The objective of the thesis is based on an analysis of information available on the Leos Janacek Ostrava Airport and creates suggestions for changes that could contribute to the development of the airport.
