Abstract

SMEs are important actors in developed world economies. Constituting the backbone of the economy of many member states of the European Union, including the Czech Republic. Small and medium-sized enterprises employing on average more than 90% of the economically active population of the European Union and greatly contributes to gross domestic product. The Czech Republic is economically developed country, with an open economy, it means the country with an inclination to trading with foreign countries. Even in this area are small and medium-sized enterprises playing an important role, on average, 35% of the total export of the Czech Republic. This share is affected by many factors, besides the specific characteristics of SMEs also specific problems which SMEs have to face at the moment of their entry into the foreign market. It seems that next to the “classic” barriers to entry to foreign markets can be a barrier of entry to foreign markets indicated the concern of SMEs from the entry into foreign market. It is possible to eliminate this concern through a series of analyses that to SMEs will allow better identify potential weaknesses and threats of target markets, but also their own weaknesses and potential threats that could jeopardise the success of entering foreign markets. Dissertation deals with the entry of small and medium-sized enterprises in the industrial markets through export operations. Aim is to propose a methodology theses solutions to help exporters to the stage before exporting properly decide on key issues, with decision on export-related activities. This methodology will handle procedural maps of the preparatory phase and the measurement tools to export activities and marginal levelling companies to export. In the first part of the dissertation work summarizes theoretical bases of international marketing, small and medium-sized enterprises and forms of entry to foreign markets. The second part of the dissertation work is devoted to analysing the export activities of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Czech Republic. The third part of the dissertation work is devoted to preserving the draft of procedural maps of export activites, including the preparatory phase and the measurement of the marginal levelling tools to export companies. For the treatment of this issue has been used methods of analysis, synthesis and generalization method.
