Abstract

This thesis is focused on the practical application of selected methods of lean manufacturing and kaizen philosophy. In the first half of the theoretical part is being described the origin and begininng of kaizen philosophy, explained the essence of kaizen in everyday life, the meaning of kaizen in business and focused on some selected methods of this philosophy. In the second half is being explained the essence of lean manufacturing, which is closely related to kaizen philosophy and complements it. There are described some of the elements that will be used in the practical part. Both halves of the theoretical part are supplemented by advantages, disadvantages, risks and benefits of lean manufacturing and kaizen philosophy. Characteristics of the firm precedes practical part. Followed by the description and analysis of the current state of workplace which has been subjected by changes in the spirit of kaizen and lean manufacturing, formulation problems, and goals. Next there are proposals and recommendations for change. The work culminates in evaluating proposed changes and benefits. The thesis includes annexes that contain drawings of workplace before and after the change, drawings of the production hall, photos and additional charts.
