Hodnocení efektivnosti florbalových hráčů pomocí DEA modelů

Abstract

The aim of the thesis on the topic "Assessment of the Efficiency of Floorball Players using the DEA Model" is to evaluate the efficiency of floorball players from the top Czech competition, the Livesport Superliga, using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model. Based on the presented information from the field of DEA models, explained in the theoretical section, the practical part provides mathematically supported recommendations for improving the efficiency of floorball players in individual teams of the Czech Superliga. The thesis also includes a description of floorball itself as a sport, starting from its history, through the basics of the game and player positions, to statistics. Equally important is the presentation of methods for measuring performance in floorball and the application of DEA models to assess the efficiency of floorball players. The evaluation of effectiveness is applied to the statistics of floorball players for the regular part of the 2023/2024 competitive season after the twenty-fourth game round. The results of player effectiveness are compared both among individual players and with the results of the teams in which these players play. The evaluation indicates that thanks to the model, we can obtain objective results, which can be used as a basis for measuring the efficiency of floorball players, as well as a tool for determining the composition of individual playing formations, which, in the case of DEA models, also offers players the opportunity to identify how they would need to improve in order to compete with their peers.
