Podpora malých a středních podniků ve Španělsku a Mexiku

Abstract

This Master thesis offers a comprehensive analysis of support programs (financial and non-financial) for SMEs in Spain and Mexico and an assessment of the business environment in these countries. It uses secondary and also primary data which were obtained from a survey conducted in March 2022. This survey was focused on the perception of business support by Spanish and Mexican entrepreneurs and their experience with applications for support and obtaining it. This is support both in the beginning and during the expansion of the business and during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been shown that entrepreneurs in Spain have more opportunities to get a start-up support than in Mexico, and that SMEs in the both countries can benefit from more sources of financial support during the COVID-19 pandemic than before it broke out. It was also found that in Mexico and Spain, entrepreneurs are dissatisfied with the state's support of SMEs, and the changes they propose have included less bureaucracy, more information, better promotion of support options, reduced requirements for loan applicants and the overall simplification of application processes.
