Abstract
Dissertation Thesis deals with the determination of conditions for plasma nitriding of cavities internal surfaces of selected steel material used for the barrel firearms systems.
Aiming was the selection of materials and determining the pressure of heat treated tubes for making the barrels. There was selected steel PO 209, in accordance with practical requirements of Zbrojovka Uhersky Brod. There have been specified conditions of implementation of plasma nitriding to achieve necessary mechanical properties needed for the efficient application of nitrided parts for barrel systems.
Based on practical experience were designed pressure of plasma nitriding in the range from 400 to 600 Pa, the average cavities 6-8 mm.
There was followed nitriding penetration into the cavity, thus the depth of the inner surface nitriding in the cavities and the resulting layers composition in inner surfaces. The purpose was to provide the desired mechanical properties, particularly wear resistance.
In this way, chemical-heat treatment to the proposed conditions of implementation was monitored using progressive method of chemical heat treatment - plasma nitriding, as a way of processing leading to the achievement of excellent mechanical properties and obtaining higher operational efficiency of barreled firearms ways ensuring high environmental quality.
