Abstract
KLEČKOVÁ, Žaneta. Theoretical and experimental study on effects of carbon dioxide addition on explosion characteristics of fossil fuel-air mixture. Ostrava, 2020. 48 p. Diploma thesis. VŠB - TU Ostrava, Faculty of Safety Engineering.
Thesis describes the results of theoretical and experimental study of the carbon dioxide addition effect on the explosion properties of fossil fuels and air mixtures. The most important results are the prediction and measured explosion parameters of the mixture in different volume concentrations and their original temperature dependence. In the first part, the state of the art is presented. Furthermore, the theoretical part describes the individual explosion characteristics. In the experimental part of the thesis is described measuring system and measurement validation. Substances used in the measurement are also described and characterized here. Based on the calculations, more than 20 pressure time curves were measured, from which selected are presented directly in the thesis. The effect of temperature and carbon dioxide addition is presented for maximum explosion pressure, maximum rate of pressure rise and deflagration index. The results of the measurements were compared with the state of the art and possible ways of their application in practice were proposed.
