Abstract
The thesis is focused on the educational policy of the European Union. Educational policy has evolved over time. To achieve these goals using a variety of tools and strategies (eg the Bologna process, the Lisbon strategy, Europe 2020, European Year ...). In the theoretical section, we further characterize the educational programs in the period 2000 - 2006 (this period will be described in much detail, since most programs of this period were maintained for the following period), the period 2007-2013 and the period 2014-2020 (in this period will merge educational programs into one - Erasmus for All). These educational programs include: Socrates, Erasmus, Grundtvig ... The work focuses on three aspects of the education system: formal education, non-formal education and informal education. Closer to focus on non-formal education component and define the concept of soft competence. Population aging is also associated with the increasing importance of lifelong learning. The European Union is therefore increasingly focused on adult education. The practical part will analyze the work of the non-governmental organization Hodina H. First, we characterize the non-profit organization, the concept of volunteering and the European Voluntary Service. For the purpose of this work, a questionnaire was prepared, which was designed for volunteers who have worked with Hodina H during the performance of their European Voluntary Service. To evaluate the collected data methods of graphic representation, reasoning and comparison were used. The aim of this paper is to draw attention to formal and non-formal education in today's European Union.
