Abstract
This master's thesis focuses on the architectural design of the Center for Education and Culture situated in close proximity to the historical Emauzy Monastery in Prague 2. The primary objective of the project is to create a space that serves the community and fosters cultural and educational activities.
The proposed structure will encompass multifunctional exhibition spaces, a library, lecture halls, a café, and an administrative section with offices. The design is conceived with a modern concept, but with careful consideration of the specific requirements of individual sections. Emphasis is placed on optimal space utilization and its ergonomic functionality.
The architectural intent is to respect the contextual relevance of the site and to sensitively respond to the historical elements of the monastery surroundings. The integration of modern design into this context is targeted with a view towards preserving harmony and aesthetic coherence with the surrounding environment.
This work includes a comprehensive analysis and design, incorporating urban studies, functional analysis, structural solutions, and aesthetic outcomes, with an emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency. The result constitutes an architectural concept that combines modern aesthetics with a respect for the historical heritage of the site, bringing a significant contribution to cultural and educational activities in the region.
