Abstract
This Bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of the behavior of masonry during the fire
situation and design of masonry structures under the normal and the fire situation.
The introduction describes the masonry elements, their characteristics and types of division.
The following text describes the masonry, its types, characteristics, basic properties
and design method for single-layer walls under the normal situation. Next chapter is devoted
to attributes of masonry, including mortar binders in case of increase temperature, where
it is pointed out to the changing physical and chemical attributes. Another chapters deal
with different types of procedures for construction design to the effects of fire, where each
types are described and explained, and these chapters deal with the types of the design
of masonry structures for the effect of fire according to Eurocode. In the end of this Bachelor
work, there is the example of the construction design where the assess of the resistance under
the normal situation and the situation during the fire is done. This is done in various ways.
