Abstract

The present thesis deals with the issue of unshaped alumina silicate materials – castables. Castable is a mixture of aggregate and binder, which self-solidified after blending from water. The binder is alumina or Portland cement. As aggregate use different types of refractories individually or in combination. The first part of the thesis deals with the composition, properties and use of unshaped refractory materials along with the possibility of lightening. The second part examines the influence of grog on the properties of castables, which they define. The identify physical properties (bulk density, bulk density geometric, absorption, density, real and apparent porosity) and mechanical properties (stress strength and flexural strength). In the next section, these physical and mechanical properties compared with commercially available products of the same character. The aim of this work is to determine which mixture in terms of properties most suitable for the preparation of lightweight refractory products.
