Abstract

Bachelor thesis deals with possibilities and usage of electromagnetic stirring during continuous steel casting. Last but not least there are also included problems of improving internal quality of billets. The first part is devoted to basic description and principle of electromagnetic stirring, its advantages and metallurgical influence on continuously cast billets. This thesis also contains rise of segregated effects for billets and influence on electromagnetic stirring to suppress these effects. Another part deals with literary analysis of findings within experimental and operating studies of given problems. At the close is introduced proposal of experiment that was done in company Třinecké železárny, a.s.
