Abstract
This thesis focuses on materials, used in construction of boilers and fireplaces. These materials store the thermal energy of combustion products that otherwise leave the chimney hot and significantly reduce the efficiency of the equipment. The choice of the material for lining or flue gas system is crucial for efficient usage of the thermal energy in residential heating. Moreover by mixing appropriate materials it is possible to optimize the amount of stored energy, heat capacity and thermal conductivity. Goal of this thesis is a test of four specially designed mixtures and their comparison according their usage in fireplaces and boilers. The theoretical assumption where validated in experimental study, which simulated real conditions of the materials during heating and cooling.
