Abstract

This thesis is focused on substances with decontamination effects, among which are different sorbents and specially treated fabric. Its content contains a theoretical description of the process of contamination and decontamination followed by a focus on different types of decontamination products. These decontamination products are divided into different categories. This is often supplemented by information on selected special fabrics and textile materials used for increasing the resistance of these textiles to the passage of chemical warfare agents. The theoretical part of this paper is a general description of the various types of chemical warfare agents and simulants. The center of this paper represents the experimental work, which is aimed at determining the effectiveness of clay materials and other sorbents in the decontamination process with a focus on repeatability of the method. The work was extended to determine the permeability of textile materials against the passage of simulants of chemical warfare agents in the application of sorbents. Based on the measured data, I concluded that the modified materials have the highest decontamination efficiency, which confirms the theoretical information about the modifications that were carried out for this reason. In the end I can state that by combining different fabrics and modified materials positive results can be achieved with the focus of increasing the resistance of textile materials against the effects of chemical warfare agents.
