Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on cobalt alloys used in glass tools. The theoretical part of the work includes a research concercing cobalt and its alloys in general. It provides general characteristic of cobalt, its alloys and their basic properties. The work then focuses on the technological process of manufacturing of cobalt alloys, particularly on the lost wax method of the investment casting technology. Furthermore, the part includes the classification of cobalt alloys according to their basic properties and according to their trade mark and the utilization of cobalt alloys in glass industry. The goal of the experimental part is to determine the causes of degradation of fiberizing disc made of cobalt superalloys for glass industry.
