Abstract

The dissertation focuses on the field of human resources performance measurement in the companies. The main goal of the thesis is to design a comprehensive approach to the performance measurement of employees in small and middle enterprises through a theoretical-methodological basis. This main goal is divided into the scientific research, pedagogical, publication and practical goals. The scientific research goal of the dissertation is to evaluate the present situation in the approaches to performance measurement in the area of human resource management in the small and middle companies in the Moravian-Silesian region and to evaluate the rate of application of quantitative and qualitative indicators in this area. Then, based on the gained knowledge, propose the possibilities of application of a complex system that covers quantitative and qualitative factors within performance measurement of human resources with the purpose of getting complex information about the human resources performance. The pedagogical goal consists of gathering and systemization of knowledge concerning performance measurement of human resources for their application in the pedagogical activity. The publication goal is to publish the findings showed by the research conducted for this dissertation. The practical goal consists of designing a procedure of application of the complex system of indicators into the performance measurement of human resources on the organizational, department, and individual levels, respecting the distinctiveness of the small and middle enterprises. The procedure is based on research and critical analysis of expert sources focused on discussed field, and on acquiring primary data based on own research of the author`s. In the next step the acquired knowledge is synthesized to design an approach of performance measurement of employees that reflects identified segments of the performance. Proposed model is based on particular performance areas and the temporal aspects of the measurement where these areas are evaluated in three organizational levels – individual, department and whole organization.
