Abstract
The presented bachelor's thesis is dedicated to a comprehensive analysis of the architecture and behavior of mild-hybrid powertrain systems. The aim of the work is to describe the main components of the system, analyze its operation in various driving modes, and provide a comparison with other types of electrified powertrains. Theoretical assumptions are subsequently verified through experimental measurements on a Škoda Octavia IV vehicle equipped with a 1.5 TSI e-TEC engine and a 48V on-board system. The practical part includes static measurements of the starting cycle and energy management, as well as dynamic tests of recuperation and electrical assistance on a chassis dynamometer. Dynamic measurements confirmed the efficiency of recuperation and the immediate onset of the electric motor's torque, which successfully compensates for the physical lag of the turbocharger. The conclusion of the thesis discusses the overall benefits of mild-hybrid powertrain systems as well as their design limitations, among which are primarily the parasitic losses of the belt-driven hybrid powertrain.
