Abstract

This thesis deals with loans for housing in the Czech Republic. Its goal is to assess loan activity of banks and to show influence of changes in mortgage interest rates. The theoretical part defines basic terms linked with a banking sector and a financial market, engaging specifically in bank products for loan market. The other part of my thesis describes economic progression and loan market development viewing from the perspective of financing volume coming from the credits granted and their interest rates. The practical part is focused on the mortgage interest rates prognosis, model situations depicting how changes of interest rates influence amounts of repayments and appreciation of impacts of increasing indebtedness.
