Abstract
This thesis deals with an analysis of gas emissions from woodchips created by long-term, low-temperature heating. The NICOLET iS10, which identifies chemicals by FTIR method, is used for the tests.
The theoretical part describes fire caused by spontaneous ignition of woodchips, dangerous combustion gas products, the FTIR method, woodchips storage and spontaneous ignition in general. The experimental part deals with the analysis of woodchips combustion gas products during heating and its comparison with natural woodchips. The results are evaluated, and some precautions concerning woodchips storage are suggested at the conclusion of the thesis.
