Abstract

The subject of this thesis is to contribute to the expansion of knowledge in determining the average firefighter’s air consumption in the use of autonomous pressurized air breathing apparatus at various load body. The thesis is divided into six main parts. The first part is perceived as an introduction to the problems of breathing. The second part describes the breathing apparatus. In the third part there is a definition of affect of the air consumption on user’s. The fourth, the fifth and the sixth section describe the measuring methods, their results and overall evaluation. The conclusion summarizes the values of air consumption depending on firefighter’s physical exertion and compares the results of air consumption data currently available in the literature. The results can be used for purposes such as training, fire protection units.
