Abstract

This diploma thesis concerns analysis and evaluation of current state of inventory management in a particular company through ABC and XYZ analyses. The theoretical part defines six sigma approach towards changes in inventory management and mutual combination of ABC and XYZ analyses. In a practical part, with an application of software PREWIT in a real firm, there are suggested changes that would lead to cost reduction and to reaching higher profit. These changes in inventory management are based on stock reduction, on customer service improvement and on implementation of EDI system.
