Abstract

The thesis focuses on the influence of geographical conditions on tourism development in a selected area of Greece. The locality of interest of this thesis is mainly the city of Thessaloniki. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, Thessaloniki is described and characterized in terms of the prerequisites for tourism. The practical part focuses on the inbound and outbound tourism of selected travel agencies of the area, the results of a questionnaire survey and a GIS overlay analysis.
