Abstract

The diploma thesis isfocused on the determination of the influence of basic parameters of sand mixtures prepared with technology ST-mixtures with furans binders on the production of steel castings. The theoretical part includes the characteristics of the ST-a mixture in general scale and focusing on furan binders (influence of climate conditions, etc). Further par tdeals with the influence of undesirable impurities in sands fo rthe productiono fmoulds and cores, with the combination of quartz and chromite sands and the possibility of reclamationof these systems. The practical part focuses on the assessment of the effects on the internal and surface quality of castings from mould and core mixtures. In the context of the experimental part was modeled the reverse diffusion of humidity forms as a potential source of gas for the gasdefects. The influence of Cr content in quartz reclaim as potential source of casting defects was also studied. The last area of the DP assesses the influence of moulding mixtures and the irmodifications on casting defects of steel castings produced from material C12A.
