Abstract
The study of function and structural types of turbochargers used in cars or trucks of world production was performed in the presented bachelor thesis. The comparison of the combustion behavior of gasoline and diesel engines depending on car emissions as well as the types of materials commonly used for the air compresor and shaft are summerized. A brief description of processing technologies and assembly of turbines is presented. The aim of experimental part of the work is to determine microstructure and type of superalloy used in dammaged turbine of diesel engine. On the base of the metallographic results the material properties of the superalloy are found.
