Abstract
The bachelor thesis deals with Michelson interferometer measurement, its principle and description operation of fibre interferometry and its application in real conditions. The thesis introduces the basic types of optical interferometers and the principle of fibre optic interferometry from a physical point of view and its basic laws in object detection. Optical fibre interferometry can be widely be it road or rail transport, by measuring non-electrical quantities, as optical interferometry is independent of electromagnetic interference. The scope of this work is to assemble a measurement device from functional blocks consisting of optical fibers, passive elements, connectors and other devices to provide a comprehensive display of the measured object in the frequency and time domain.
The aim of the measurement is to analyse and statistically evaluate the passage of two different types of vehicles, which differ from each other in terms of mass, aerodynamic drag, the propulsion used and, last but not least, the characteristics of the manifestation of the vehicles themselves. Main goal of this statistic was to evaluate whether it is possible to use an optical Michelson interferometer to record the passage of a vehicle with sufficient quality and to evaluate the characteristics obtained by these passes.
