Abstract

Submitted thesis deals with the history of reclamation works after the mining processes in the North Bohemian browncoal district. Opencast mining and also underground mining brings not only positive economic benefits but also negative impacts on the affected land. The task of reclamation works of the affected landscape is again adjusted to suit the production of agricultural, forestry, water management, but at the same time other societal interests. The complex of reclamation works is to evaluate biological productivity of the landscape, its hygienic, aesthetic and social values. The system of reclamation measures must not only be motivated by narrow economic interests of human society, but also environmentally, that is in favor of newly created nature.
