Abstract
ANNOTATION
SILOVSKÝ, Filip. Analysis of the Explosion Parameters of Hydrocarbon and Hydrogen in Air Blends. Ostrava, 2019. 85 p. Diploma thesis. VŠB – TU Ostrava, Faculty of Safety Engineering.
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the explosion pressure, maximum rate of explosion pressure rise and deflagration index as a function of concentration and temperature. In addition to primary aim, the laminar burning velocity, the time to reach the maximum of explosion pressure, the adiabatic explosion pressure and the adiabatic temperature of the mixture of methane and hydrogen with air were also determined. The introduction is a summary of previous studies concerning the current state of the art. Furthermore, the experimental apparatus, its validation using gaseous standards and the explosion chamber is described. For the measurement, a methodology originally designed for atmospheric conditions with a procedure for preparing a flammable set of real temperature conditions was used. Emphasis is placed on mathematical analysis in the form of prediction of key parameters depending on temperature and concentration. Subsequent measurements were made for methane, hydrogen and their mixtures at different volume concentrations and at three temperatures of 10, 20 and 40 °C. Furthermore, experimentally obtained values were compared with the results of numerical prediction and discussed in comparison with previous studies. In the conclusion of the thesis there is given an example of application the acquired knowledge in practice.
