Abstract
The diploma thesis focuses on the determination of the market of psychiatric care for children and adolescents in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the market of psychiatric care for children and adolescents in regions of the Czech Republic for the period 2010–2021, based on a quantitative analysis of demand and a quantitative and qualitative analysis of supply. The analyses showed that the market grew during the years. Its growth was mainly driven by the increasing demand for psychiatric care for children and adolescents, which was driven by the rising prevalence of mental illness in patients (25-) across all regions. In addition, the growth in demand was also supported by the growing awareness of the general public of the benefits of psychiatric care and the gradual breaking down of the stigma associated with mental illness. Over the years, however, the market of psychiatric care for children and adolescents has faced a limited and unevenly provided supply compared to different regions, due to the limited inflow of investment and qualified human resources as a result of the historical marginalisation of the field of psychiatry.
