Abstract

The thesis deals with the photokatalytic degradation of phenol in aqueous solution. Phenol degradation was studied under the effect of UV radiation in the presence of various substances. As the catalysts were studied: montmorillonite, montmorillonite as a carrier of nanoparticles ZnS, macroscopic ZnS, ZnS nanoparticles and UV radiation itself. The effectiveness of these substances and their influence on the course of phenol degradation was compared. In assessing the phenol degradation, the attention was paid to kinetics of chemical reaction.
