Společenstva měkkýšů těšínských vápenců (polská část Těšínského Slezska)

Abstract

This work is focused on the study of molluscs of Těšín limestones in the Polish part of Těšín's Silesia. It includes familiarization with the morphology of gastropods and the main environmental factors affecting molluscs. The collections of molluscs took place at three sites with limestone bedrock. One site was the limestone outcrops nearby approach road and functional limestone quarry Wielki Tuł. Another two sites were the former, now overgrown, limestone quarries, one of which was partially flooded. There were found 1297 individuals in the area of study. There were determined 34 mollusc species from the number of individuals. (31 terrestrial gastropods, an aquatic gastropod and two mussels). Most species found are listed among the forest types (58%). The most interesting species found is Faustina Faustina, which was found only at one standpoint, but in the total amount of 416 living individuals.
