Balistická studie odolnosti čelního lepeného autoskla proti průstřelu střelnou zbraní

Abstract

This thesis focuses on the ballistic resistance of laminated windshields in passenger vehicles when fired upon from various lateral angles, using ammunition commonly employed in service weapons of the Police of the Czech Republic. The aim is to determine whether the projectile penetrates the glass upon impact or whether it ricochets, posing a potential threat to the surrounding area. The practical part is based on ballistic tests conducted at a shooting range, using a CZ 75 D Compact pistol and 9×19 mm Luger XRG (6.5 g) ammunition. Commonly used laminated windshields from passenger vehicles were tested. The results show that when aiming at the driver's position, the projectile penetrates the windshield, allowing for potential neutralization of the suspect. At the same time, it was demonstrated that at sharp angles of impact, a ricochet may occur, which presents a significant risk to nearby persons and property.
