Návrh geoturistické exkurze se zaměřením na grandslamové turnaje

Abstract

This master's thesis explores the innovative integration of sports tourism and geotourism, focusing on globally significant Grand Slam tournaments. The aim of the work is to design comprehensive geotouristic excursions to London (Wimbledon) and Melbourne (Australian Open), primarily intended for students of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava. The theoretical part defines the principles and trends of modern geotourism and reviews the history of tennis Grand Slams. The practical part includes detailed itineraries of the proposed trips, including cost calculations and geological characteristics of the visited locations. The thesis provides a unique interdisciplinary perspective through laboratory analysis of playing surfaces (clay, hard court, and grass) using X-ray diffraction and computed tomography, demonstrating the presence of geology directly within the sports environment.
